Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- Lao and Thai newspapers carried special write-ups on the occasion of the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung (the Day of the Sun). The April 8-14 issue of the Lao paper Heng Ngan carried an article titled "Feats performed by President Kim Il Sung in nation-building" illustrated with a portrait of the smiling President. The DPRK is holding him in high esteem as the eternal President, the article said, and went on: He expounded the original idea and theory of nation-building, providing steadfast guidelines for nation-building. He set up the new type government, people's power and developed it into a powerful weapon for accomplishing the socialist cause. By pursuing benevolent politics, all-embracing politics, he closely united the popular masses around the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK government and worked heart and soul to make sure that free healthcare and free education and all other popular policies were thoroughly enforced. The DPRK is firmly prepared politically and ideologically and in a military technique and has the People's Army equipped with powerful offensive and defensive means and even nuclear deterrent. This would be unthinkable without his feats. The DPRK is providing a firm guarantee for the prosperity of the country and the nation under the uplifted banner of independence thanks to the firm foundation of the self-supporting national economy laid by him. The Thai paper Xing San Daily on April 9 carried an article titled "Eternal sun of Juche" illustrated with a portrait of the smiling President. The article praised the sacred revolutionary life of the peerlessly great man who embarked upon the road of revolution in his teens and made immortal contributions to carrying out the Korean revolution and the cause of global independence through his outstanding ideological and theoretical activities. Kim Il Sung will be immortal as the sun of Juche in the hearts of mankind as he hewed out the era of independence and devoted his all to the victory of the human cause of independence, the article noted. |
