Present there were senior party and state officials, chairpersons of friendly parties, officials of the party, armed forces and power organs, the Cabinet, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, service personnel of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, officials in the fields of science, education, literature and arts, public health and media and merited persons.

Also present were the heads of overseas Koreans delegations for celebrating the Day of the Sun including the delegation of Koreans in Japan and other compatriots and the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front.

Present there on invitation were foreign diplomatic envoys, representatives of international organizations and members of the military attaches corps here.

Choe Thae Bok, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, in his speech said that the life of Kim Il Sung was characterized by his total dedication to the prosperity and development of the country and happiness of its people.

The President liberated the country and led the struggle in the grim period of the revolution to victory and built a powerful socialist country independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in defence on this land. These were the extraordinary exploits which always remain shining in the history of the nation, he said, adding:

The august name of the President became a symbol of victory and an immortal banner in the anti-imperialist struggle for national liberation and the struggle for independence of the popular masses.

The idea and cause of the President was successfully carried forward by leader Kim Jong Il.

Under the wide leadership of the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, all the service personnel and people are successfully putting the ideas and cause of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il into practice and fully demonstrating the dignity and honor of the sun's nation.

The speaker stressed the need to remain true to the leadership of Kim Jong Un, thoroughly implement the new strategic line of the party for simultaneously pushing forward economic construction and the building of nuclear force and fully demonstrate the dignity and spirit of the great Paektusan nation and build the best and strongest country and people's paradise on this land.
