Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung in his lifetime set an example for national liberation movement in colonial countries. For the first time in history, he paved a way for achieving a nation's independence and sovereignty with its own efforts. Drawing a lesson from the anti-Japanese independence movement in the 1920s, he advanced fresh lines and policies for national liberation struggle in reflection of the broad masses' requirements and desire. And he led the anti-Japanese armed struggle to victory on the basis of the Korean revolutionary forces to liberate the country. A world culture meeting was held in Cuba in January Juche 57 (1968) with the attendance of progressive men of culture from some 70 countries. The meeting adopted a document titled "The anti-Japanese armed struggle of the Korean people launched under the guidance of the great Comrade Kim Il Sung", which suggested that the experiences gained in the struggle be examples for the present-day national liberation struggle in colonial countries. A host of foreign politicians and resistance fighters visited Pyongyang from across the world to learn the experiences from Kim Il Sung. Kim Il Sung gave clairvoyant answers to the visiting dignitaries on all questions arising in anti-imperialist national liberation struggle. Inspired by his teachings, many countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America energetically pushed ahead with the struggle, finally achieving national liberation from colonial rule. |
