DPRK Skaters Prove Successful at World Short Track Speed Skating

| Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- The 2013 World Short Track Speed Skating Tournament for Development Cup of the International Skating Union (ISU) took place, divided into three stages. The first stage was held in Poland from Mar. 26 to 30 and the third is due in Philippines from Apr. 16 to 20. The second stage took place in Singapore. The tournament, which was held from April 9 to 13, divided into juvenile group (15-18), junior group C (13-14) and junior group D (11-12), brought together more than 40 skaters of different countries including the DPRK. It draws interest of professional skaters and fans, being the first organized by the ISU. The DPRK skaters bagged four medals in the tournament. Ri Ji Ryon (juvenile group) and Kim Kum Hyang (junior group C) lifted trophies in women's 500m and 1,000m categories. |
