Pyongyang, April 17 (KCNA) -- The 413 Institute under the State Academy of Sciences in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has developed a new kind of bio-fuel, with rice chaff, sawdust, wood shavings, dried leaves and straw as raw materials. Ko Il Yong, deputy director of the institute, told KCNA: On the basis of analysis of rational indexes of crushed bio-materials, the institute has set up the production processes for the fuel. It also made stoves for the fuel. The fuel's heat value is more than 4,000kcal/kg. 500kg of the fuel are tantamount to 1 tonne of coal. The fuel is increasingly gaining popularity among users. As substitute for electricity and coal, it gives no adverse effect on ecological environment. |
