Marshal Kim Jong Un's election as first secretary of the WPK and first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission a year ago was all Korean people's expression of deep trust in him and marked a historic event, the statement said.

Kim Jong Un is successfully carrying forward the revolutionary cause of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, it noted, and went on:

He has demonstrated his distinguished leadership ability over the past one year. He published historic works which serve as important guidelines for advancing the Korean revolution along a straight road of victory under the banner of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism. He has made ceaseless journey for field guidance to different parts of the country.

Under his wise leadership Changjon Street was built in Pyongyang, cultural recreation grounds for people appeared in different parts of the country and Kwangmyongsong 3-2 was launched with success.

He has wisely led the Korean people in their struggle to shatter the moves of the U.S. imperialists and south Korean puppet forces to ignite a new war and achieve the reunification of the country.

The Korean people will certainly reunify the country and win a final victory under his Songun revolutionary leadership.
