Root Cause of Tension on Korean Peninsula Is U.S.: Minju Joson

Pyongyang, April 19 (KCNA) -- The U.S. is massively beefing up war forces including nuclear strike means on the Korean Peninsula and in waters off it. Denouncing this, a bylined commentary of Minju Joson Friday says: This has turned the Korean Peninsula and areas around it into the world's biggest hotspot beset with the danger of the outbreak of a nuclear war in view of the density of the deployment of nuclear force. The recent U.S. military movement around the Korean Peninsula proves that the U.S. moves have entered into the phase of practical implementation with an aim at the provocation of a nuclear war. The root cause of the problem lies in none other than the U.S. The U.S. divided the Korean nation into two to realize its strategy for world domination. It has seriously threatened the sovereignty and security of the DPRK, while pursuing hostile policy toward it. The DPRK was forced to access the means for existence and self-defence. It also laid out a line on simultaneously pushing forward economic construction and building of nuclear force. This is attributable to the U.S. ambition to stifle the DPRK. The U.S., displeased with the DPRK's nuclear weaponization, is charging it with "violation of resolution" and "challenge". This is a groundless slandering and calumny. For decades the U.S. has worked viciously to stifle the DPRK, while threatening it. It, however, has shelved its criminal past and loudly spoken ill of the DPRK's nuclear weaponization. This is a product of its plot to force the DPRK to lay down arms and attain with ease its ambition to stifle the DPRK. Now that the U.S. has taken every opportunity to pull up the DPRK, its army and people are hardening their determination to take a countermeasure stronger than nuclear weapons. |
