Philippine Organizations Slam U.S. Nuclear War Moves against DPRK

Pyongyang, April 22 (KCNA) -- The Philippines Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification in the Korean Peninsula and the Philippine preparatory committee for celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War made public a joint statement on April 7 in denunciation of the U.S. imperialists' nuclear war moves against the DPRK.

The statement accused the U.S. of staging frantic nuclear war exercises in south Korea with huge forces and ultra-modern war hardware involved with an aim to stifle the DPRK and, furthermore, establish domination over the Asia-Pacific region.

The DPRK has the right to bolster up its nuclear deterrence to protect the country and its people, it noted, and went on:

The U.S. is a stumbling block in the way of the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea.

We call for the conclusion of a peace treaty between the DPRK and the U.S. for putting a definite end to the Korean war.

We also urge the U.S. to pull its aggression troops and nuclear weapons out of south Korea.
