The statement said his life was a noble life of a great leader of people and a peerless leader.

After embarking on the road of the revolution in his early years, he waged hard-fought anti-Japanese armed struggle and liberated the Korean nation from the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule and built a socialist country for the people, a country strong in the sense of independence, the statement said.

It added that he founded the great Juche idea and brilliantly embodied it in the whole period of leading the revolution and construction. He built a socialist system centered on the popular masses and strengthened and developed it, the statement stressed.

Regarding it as his maxim to believe in the people as in Heaven, he put the demands and interests of the people above all and rendered devoted services for the people's happiness, it noted, adding that under his loving care the Korean people could lead an independent, creative and happy life as a big harmonious family.

His great feats will shine long along with the invincible might of Juche Korea that is making victorious progress under the Songun leadership of the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, the statement stressed.
