Anti-DPRK Moves of U.S. Denounced by French, Russian Figures

Pyongyang, April 23 (KCNA) -- French and Russian figures denounced the U.S. moves to stifle the DPRK. The secretary general of the France-Korea Friendship Association said as follows when interviewed by Voice of Russia on April 5: Recently the western media are misleading the public opinion, claiming that the DPRK is intentionally straining the situation. This is nothing but a foolish attempt to falsify the essence of the situation. The DPRK has strong military muscle which is aimed to foil the invasion by the U.S. to all intents and purposes. It is quite natural that the DPRK defends its sovereignty in reliance on its powerful nuclear deterrence to cope with the threats by the U.S. which has introduced latest war hardware including the nuclear-capable strategic bombers after deploying huge aggression forces in south Korea. Danger of the Korean Peninsula is not caused by the DPRK but by the U.S. which is seeking to strategically dominate the Asia-Pacific region. The DPRK, therefore, could not but take the option of bolstering up its nuclear deterrent. The Korean people are wishing for peaceful reunification. The detente of the Korean Peninsula depends on the U.S. retraction of its hostile policy toward the DPRK. The editor-in-chief of the Russian paper Zavtra at a press conference on April 3 fully supported the line on simultaneously pushing forward economic construction and build-up of nuclear force set forth at the March, 2013 plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. Condemning the U.S. moves of increasing the danger of a nuclear war on the peninsula, the editor-in-chief praised the DPRK as the only country standing firm against the U.S. which styles itself the world's "only super power." |
