The Japanese reactionaries have persistently forced the Koreans to have the "assimilation education" dating back to the colonial period, while talking about the "law on education". Finally they promulgated the notorious "ordinance of closing Korean schools" in January 1948.

On April 24 tens of thousands of Koreans in Hyogo region had their demand met including the withdrawal of the "ordinance of closing Korean schools", a result of their unflinching fight with the regional authorities.

The environment around the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan is almost as same as 65 years ago when fascist suppression of the Koreans in Japan was on the rampant.

The Japanese reactionaries took a vicious discrimination step of excluding only the Korean schools from the tuition-free program for senior high schools with sinister intentions to foil the national education and trample down the future of the compatriots' society. At the undisguised instigation of the Japanese authorities, the moves to stop the tuition-free program for Korean schools have taken place in different parts of Japan like a chain reaction.

The Koreans in Japan have carried on dynamic struggle for defending the right of national education under the Japanese reactionaries' unreasonable discrimination policy, holding high slogans like "Abolition of discrimination policy of national education" and "Achieving equal educational right".

The national education is the roots of the movement of Koreans in Japan and the lifeline of invariable patriotic cause of Chongryon.

No matter how desperately the Japanese reactionaries may try to obliterate Chongryon, they can never break the unwavering faith and will of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan who are advancing with the pride and honor of overseas citizens.

The cause of Chongryon is just and its victory is inevitable.
