The KPA was originated from the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army founded by President Kim Il Sung, invincible and iron-willed commander and gifted strategist.

The KPA is an army of the party, leader and working class which has grown to be invincible ranks and genuine Juche-type revolutionary armed forces. It has carried forward the traditions of the anti-Japanese armed struggle and achieved unity based on revolutionary comradeship.

It dealt a bitter defeat at the U.S. imperialists in the past Korean war under the wise leadership of the President and later frustrated all the U.S. provocations including the case of the U.S. spy ship Pueblo and the large spy plane EC-121 incident.

Its might has been strengthened under the leadership of Kim Jong Il.

He put forward the army as the main force of the revolution and pursued the Songun politics.

Thanks to his Songun revolutionary leadership, the KPA has been bolstered politically and ideologically and in military technique.

The KPA possessed powerful arms and equipment and deterrent so as to resolutely foil any provocations of the enemies under the leadership of Kim Jong Il and the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

The past 81 years are history of triumphant victory of the KPA.
