Rodong Sinmun Dismisses S. Korean Authorities' Smear Campaign against DPRK as Ridiculous

Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- If the south Korean authorities persistently pursue a policy of confrontation with the DPRK, antagonizing compatriots, it will only touch off a storm of popular protest and result in throwing them into the dumping ground of history as was the case with the Lee Myung Bak regime. They should bear this in mind. Rodong Sinmun Monday warns this in a bylined article. It continues: Such moves to escalate the confrontation with Pyongyang are an unpardonable treason as they mean a repetition of the crimes committed by the former traitorous regime. The danger of a nuclear war is prevailing on the Korean Peninsula entirely because of the acts of treachery committed by the south Korean puppet regime. It has gone reckless in its racket to stifle the DPRK in collusion with outside forces out of deep-rooted hostility towards the ideology and social system of the compatriots. The present puppet regime of south Korea is following in the footsteps of the Lee Myung Bak group in the smear campaign against the DPRK over its "human rights issue". The south Korean warlike forces are letting loose such torrent of outbursts as crying out for "decisive punishment" as part of the smear campaign against the just countermeasures for self-defense taken by the DPRK, pushing the situation to a more uncontrollable phase. The puppet forces are now employing such sleight of hand as proposing "dialogue" in a bid to evade the blame for the serious situation, a product of their confrontation policy, and conceal their traitorous nature. If the south Korean authorities have the genuine will to have dialogue, they should stop their wordplay, draw a lesson from the catastrophic consequences of their reckless confrontation policy and apologize for all their traitorous acts. |
