Symposium on Architectural Aesthetics Held
Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- The 8th Symposium on Architectural Aesthetics was held at the Central Youth Hall on Monday.

Present there were Kim Ki Nam, secretary of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, Vice-Premier Kim In Sik, chairman of the Capital City Construction Commission, and officials, designers, researchers, technicians, creators, teachers and students in the fields of architecture, construction and building materials.

The floor was taken by Kwon Song Ho, minister of State Construction Control, Yun Kum Ryong, vice-director of the Paektusan Architectural Institute, and Pae Tong Il, president of Pyongyang University of Architecture.

The speakers referred to the immortal feats Generalissimo Kim Jong Il and the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un performed in the field of construction and proved the validity and vitality of the WPK's idea and theory of architectural aesthetics and dealt with issues arising in the construction of monumental edifices.

Thanks to the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un, monumental edifices and many buildings have appeared in Pyongyang in recent years to contribute to the Korean people's cultural and emotional life, they noted.

They explained the originality and vitality of the theory of convenience-first and architectural beauty-next newly expounded by Kim Jong Un.

This theory provides a firm guarantee for preserving the purity of the Juche-oriented architecture and making the architecture in the country serve the purpose of creating a revolutionary and popular one from A to Z and sets forth important guidelines to be held fast to in architecture, they said.
