U.S. Anti-DPRK Moves Flailed by Rodong Sinmun

Pyongyang, May 7 (KCNA) -- U.S. Congress is reportedly preparing a bill intended to slap tougher sanctions against the DPRK. The bill says that sanctions shall be applied to U.S. and other foreign businesses in case they conduct "illegal dealings" with the DPRK. Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in a bylined article says in this regard: What the U.S. seeks in tougher sanctions against the DPRK is to lay an obstacle in the way of its economic construction and throw a wet blanket over its efforts to improve the standard of the people's living. The U.S. should properly understand the essence of the new strategic line of the Workers' Party of Korea on simultaneously pushing forward with economic construction and the building of nuclear force. The DPRK's access to nukes is a fait accompli, and it is a full-fledged nuclear weapons state. It has no intention to try to win others' recognition of its status. As already declared, its nukes are not any bargaining chip to get economic benefits in the future. There can be no denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula before the world is denuclearized. On May 1, Pentagon announced that it would resume the test-fire of Minuteman-3, intercontinental ballistic missile. This is a product of its attempt to ignite a war in Korea at any cost. The U.S. should not run amuck. It is seriously mistaken if it thinks it can frighten the DPRK by economic sanctions or military threat. Pyongyang is fully ready both for sanctions and war. The U.S. persistent and reckless hostile policy towards the DPRK will bring it disgrace and ruin only. |
