DPRK Marks World Day of Red Cross and Red Crescent

Pyongyang, May 8 (KCNA) -- A friendship meeting took place at Kumsong School here Wednesday, the World Day of Red Cross and Red Crescent. It was cosponsored by the Red Cross Society of Korea, the delegations of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the International Committee of the Red Cross here.

The history of the Red Cross Society of Korea and its activities were introduced at the meeting.

The heads of the delegations referred to their humanitarian activities.

The participants looked round the school before enjoying an art performance given by its pupils.

Branches of the Red Cross Society held diverse events to mark the day.
