Nuclear War Exercises, Dialogue Can Never Go Together: Rodong Sinmun

Pyongyang, May 9 (KCNA) -- Nuclear war exercises and dialogue can never go together, says Rodong Sinmun Thursday in a bylined article. Just after finishing the Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises, the U.S. imperialists and south Korean puppet military have started another saber-rattling against the DPRK in the East and West Seas of Korea, the article says, adding: This indicates that they are persisting in their premeditated military provocations to push the daily worsening situation to an actual war. Great irony is that the arch criminals responsible for the prevailing extreme tensions are speaking volumes about dialogue and negotiations while brandishing a nuclear stick. The U.S. warlike forces fabricated fictitious cases against the DPRK and are becoming evermore undisguised in their moves to stifle it with nukes under the pretext of those cases. There is no knowing when the DPRK will be exposed to their nuclear attack under this situation. It is the height of hypocrisy for the U.S., the world's biggest nuclear weapons state, to talk about dialogue because it is intended to deprive the DPRK of its nuclear deterrence. It is aimed to mislead the world public opinion. The U.S. claim that it would negotiate with the DPRK only when it shows the will for denuclearization first is nothing but a cock-and-bull story. The DPRK does not oppose dialogue but it will never sit at the negotiating table with the enemy brandishing a nuclear stick. The nuclear stick should be dealt with nukes. |
