Pyongyang, May 13 (KCNA) -- A campaign to plant a new species of turf is going on in all cities of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. In the capital city of Pyongyang, a total of 120 hectares of land have already been sown with seeds of new species of turf, most of them beginning to turn green. The planting goes well also in cities of Kangwon, Jagang and South Phyongan and other provinces. Meanwhile, local media frequently introduce good species of turf, methods of cultivation and measures to prevent damage from harmful insects. Supreme leader Kim Jong Un, during his recent tour of the Turf Institute of the Bioengineering Branch under the State Academy of Sciences, underscored the need to plant trees, create grassland and cultivate flowers and other plants in all lands except the arable land so that there may be no land left waste or overgrown with weed. |
