The team, organized in January Juche 93 (2004), trains both professional and amateur players.

Boasting talented coaches, it has scores of players of different ages, including teenagers.

The team pays deep attention to popularizing Taekwon-Do among working people. As part of the work, it gives training courses for the Taekwon-Do fans and carries on dissemination activities at worksites.

It invented a series of Taekwon-Do skills, including a fake and preemptive attack in sparring match.

It has proved successful at local and international contests. It bagged some 20 medals at international tournaments, including the 5th and 6th Asian Taekwon-Do championships and more than 120 medals at local tournaments, including the national martial art championship for "September 10 Prize".

Ra Kil Nam, head of the team, told KCNA that the team would apply more scientific methods in training competent players and clinch more medals at international tournaments, glorifying the honor of the country.
