DPRK Table-Tennis Players Crowned in World Championships

| Pyongyang, May 19 (KCNA) -- DPRK table-tennis players Kim Hyok Bong and Kim Jong won gold medals at the 52nd ITTF World Championships (individual events). They trounced their Greek and Russian rivals each 4:0 at the first and second stage of the mixed doubles preliminaries. At the third and fourth stage they beat their French and Japanese rivals each 4:2 before thrashing their south Korean rival 4:1 in quarterfinals. They surpassed their rival from Hong Kong, China 4:3 in the semifinals and beat their south Korean rival 4:2 in the finals. |
