Withdrawal of U.S. Forces, Conclusion of Peace Treaty Called for in S. Korea

Pyongyang, May 19 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification, the Association for Supporting Prisoners of Conscience of the Family Movement for Realizing Democracy and other civic and public organizations of south Korea held the 5th Wednesday action for withdrawal of the U.S. forces and for peace against war beside the U.S.-south Korea "Combined Forces Command" on May 15.

Speakers accused the present chief executive of her trip to the U.S., adding the aspiration of the people for independent reunification is growing stronger though the "government" seeks the policy for confrontation with fellow countrymen.

The conservative ruling forces cannot see such a reality as they serve the U.S. regarding it as heaven, they noted.

In order to definitely remove the danger of war from this land, it is necessary to have the U.S. forces withdrawn and a peace treaty concluded, they held.

They underscored the need to wage a dynamic struggle for peace on the Korean Peninsula.
