The participants will compete in more than 30 events including, football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, weightlifting, judo, archery and gymnastics. The games will be held in Pyongyang, Hamhung, Phyongsong, Sariwon, Nampho and other places.

At the end of the opening ceremony there was a football match between junvenile classes of South Hamgyong and Jagang provinces.
