U.S. Accused of Getting Profits from Situation on Korean Peninsula: Paper

Pyongyang, May 21 (KCNA) -- Some days ago, the French paper Les Echos reported the U.S. munitions industry has benefited from the deterioration of the situation on the Korean Peninsula. According to it, Lockheed Martin, Boeing and many other U.S. munitions enterprises struck lots of arms sales deals with south Korea, taking advantages of the tension that flared up on the peninsula due to the U.S.-south Korea joint military drills that lasted two months from early March. Rodong Sinmun Tuesday commenting on it says: This fact discloses the main purposes sought by the U.S. in pushing the situation on peninsula to the brink of a nuclear war. The U.S. basic purposes in launching a huge nuclear war racket were to round off the preparations for a nuclear war to stifle the DPRK and to gain an opportunity for putting it into practice. Another purpose sought by the U.S. was to line the pockets of the munitions enterprises and find a way out of an economic crisis by selling more weapons to south Korea under the pretext of the situation on the peninsula and thus create a phase favorable for realizing its Asia-Pacific strategy. The U.S. is indeed a top class warmonger who regularly stokes tension, provokes a war and gets profits from disturbance of peace and pain suffered by people in other countries. The one way for coping with the U.S. act of escalating tension and its arms export and war export policy is to bolster the deterrent for self-defence. |
