Action for Conclusion of Peace Treaty Called for in S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 21 (KCNA) -- An editor of Minjok Thongsin, an internet paper of Koreans in the U.S., issued an article calling for the conclusion of a peace treaty on May 18.

Nearly 60 years have passed since the Armistice Agreement (AA) was signed, but a peace treaty has not yet been concluded and the danger of a nuclear war is increasing on the Korean Peninsula as never before, the article said.

It is because the U.S. has not honored the AA from the outset, it noted, adding:

The U.S. has deployed lots of nuclear weapons in south Korea and threatened the north. Washington is becoming all the more undisguised in its hostile policy toward the north, after singling it out as the target of a nuclear attack.

U.S. nuclear umbrella can never guarantee peace.

In order to ensure peace on the Korean Peninsula, all the Koreans should struggle for the conclusion of the DPRK-U.S. peace treaty.
