Pyongyang, May 22 (KCNA) -- An old map of Japan proving that Tok Islets are part of the inviolable territory of Korea was discovered, according to a south Korean internet newspaper on May 20. The map drawn by famous Japanese geographer Shihei Hayashi in 1785 clearly marks Ullung Island and Tok Islets in the same color. There is even a description beside Tok Islets that they belong to Korea. The map widely known to the world is preserved in the national library in Osaka. Ringing out from the south Korean academic circle are voices that the old Japanese map would become another historical document proving Japan's claim that Tok Islets are part of its territory is a far-fetched assertion. |
