Pyongyang, May 22 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Democracy, People's Life, Peaceful Reunification and Sovereignty of south Korea on May 19 issued a statement in protest against the unjust suppression of a young man by the puppet police. The statement condemned the Kwanak Police Station for arresting on a groundless charge a young man who staged a protest in front of the house of Won Se Hun, ex-director of the Intelligence Service. It is well known that Won was the chief architect of the IS's operation for illegal political interference, the statement said, adding: It is quite natural for the young man to demand an arrest and investigation into Won. The security authorities' crackdown is an action to save the present "government" from a political crisis by suppressing the activities of the progressive civic bodies. The authorities are little short of a dictatorial regime as they react to the activities of the civic and social body demanding a fair investigation into the illegal action with a crackdown. The statement urged the police to stop the suppression of the progressive forces and arrest Won. |
