IS Accused of Its Involvement in Suppression of Progressives in S. Korea

Pyongyang, May 22 (KCNA) -- It was disclosed that the puppet Intelligence Service (IS) of south Korea was involved in cracking down upon the forces which called for halving the registration fee during the Lee Myung Bak regime, according to south Korean CBS. This disclosure was made by a paper of the IS. The paper worked out by an IS staff member on June 1, 2011 said that the opposition parties and the progressive forces are stirring up people of various circles with the assertion that if the policy for lowering the rich people's taxes is rolled back, it is possible to halve the registration fee, while hyping the story that the "government" is responsible for the increased registration fee. The paper contained an opinion that it is necessary to brand active members of the opposition parties as "leftists" and term the demand for halving the registration fee an "assertion of the leftists" and thus push for abusing this for a psychological offensive. As far as the registration fee issue is concerned, it was one of the deceptive election commitments made by Lee to seize power. The Lee group, however, not only sidestepped this issue but mercilessly cracked down upon the youth and students and the people of other strata who struggled for the settlement of the issue. It went the lengths of resorting to political suppression of them, labeling them "leftists" and "forces following the north." The recent disclosure made it clear that the IS was behind the repressive campaign. Even former lawmakers from the ruling party held that the disclosed fact is a crucial matter which can bring the Lee regime to justice, CBS noted, and continued: There is suspicion enough to prove that the IS was watching all anti-Lee forces and it is also skeptical that a similar action was taken against those people opposed to the four large rivers project. No matter what rhetoric the Lee group of traitors makes to cover up the truth about all crimes committed by it to suppress the forces opposed to the unpopular policy, they are bound to be brought to light with the lapse of time like a gimlet in the sack is bound to protrude. |
