Withdrawal of U.S. Forces from S. Korea Urged
Pyongyang, May 25 (KCNA) -- Civic and public organizations of south Korea, including the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification and the Association for Supporting Prisoners of Conscience of the Family Movement for Realizing Democracy, held a rally outside the U.S. military base in Ryongsan on Wednesday.

At the rally speakers recalled they stage actions demanding the withdrawal of the U.S. forces from south Korea every Wednesday to oppose war and achieve durable peace on the Korean Peninsula.

The outcome of the south Korean chief executive's trip to the U.S. showed that it was only aimed to tighten the shackling alliance with the U.S. and the issue of achieving peace, the most crucial matter, was not handled during the visit, they charged, and continued:

The tightened alliance for aggression, hostile acts against the north and ceaseless military exercises would only escalate the tension on the Korean Peninsula.

In order to tide over the crisis on the peninsula, it is necessary to conclude a peace treaty at an early date and urge the U.S. forces to quit south Korea which they regard as their backyard.
