The statement recalled that the Kwanak Police Station in Seoul on May 17 arrested a young man who is a member of the Youth Solidarity and the Seoul Solidarity for Civil Rights on suspicion that he staged a demonstration in front of the house of Won Se Hun, former director of the Intelligence Service.

The security authorities cited an unclear image shown by a monitoring camera as evidence, it said, adding it is retaliation against a progressive organization which exposed the Intelligence Service's illegal interference in politics.

It bitterly condemned the security authorities for arresting the innocent young man without any reason and encroaching upon his private life, stressing that in case such act persists in the future, they will face stronger resistance of all people.
