Greetings to Chairman of AU Committee
Pyongyang, May 25 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Saturday sent a congratulatory message to Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, chairman of the Committee of the African Union (AU), on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of AU.

The message said that over the past five decades AU has made great contributions to powerfully encouraging the African people in their effort to strengthen solidarity, solve the continental issue by themselves without foreign interference and achieve regional peace and stability and socio-economic progress.

It expressed conviction that the current events marking the 50th anniversary of AU will mark an epochal occasion in making a great step forward to unity and cohesion, prosperity and peace of the African continent in line with the common aspiration and desire of the people in the region to meet worldwide challenges with their concerted efforts.

Reiterating the invariable stand of the DPRK government to steadily consolidate the long-standing traditional relations of friendship and cooperation with AU and its member nations, the message sincerely hoped that AU will strengthen and the chairman of the AU Committee will make greater successes in his responsible work.
