Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Democratic Women's Society in Japan released a statement on May 19 in protest against a Japanese ultra-right element who made reckless remarks justifying the past sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army. On May 13 Hashimoto, co-head of the Japan Restoration Party, insisted on the "necessity" for the past Japanese army's system for sexual slavery and made reckless remarks justifying the war crimes perpetrated by the Japanese imperialists, the statement charged, adding that he did not hesitate to let loose a string of balderdash that Japan is unreasonably insulted as regards the issue of the sexual slavery. The die-hard chauvinist Hashimoto's denial of Japan's aggression-woven history and reckless remarks of distorting history are nothing but a serious violation of human rights of those women who were taken to the battlefields of the Japanese army as sexual slaves and an insult to all who had fallen victim to Japan's wars for aggression, it noted. It is the stark historical facts that the Japanese imperialists enforced the national discrimination and committed the crimes of the sexual slavery during their occupation of Korea and under their colonial rule over it. However, he distorted the essence of the issue, an indication that he has no qualifications as a politician. The statement urged Hashimoto to immediately retract his reckless remarks and make a sincere apology. |
