KCNA Commentary Accuses S. Korean Authorities of Reviving "Yusin" Dictatorship
|

Pyongyang, May 27 (KCNA) -- The departed soul of "yusin" dictatorship is being brought back in practice in south Korea. Last year the "Saenuri Party" called back the departed soul of "yusin" dictatorship through political interference in the "presidential election." It is now desperately working to enact an evil law for establishing a dictatorial rule. It is working hard to stamp out the pro-reunification progressive forces standing for independence and democracy of south Korean society against the dictatorial policy, not content with suppressing them by labeling them as "forces following the north." This suffices to prove that the purpose of the "law on dissolving criminal organizations" which the group tries hard to adopt and its targets far surpass those of the draconian "Security Law." This indicates that the present south Korean authorities have revived the worst "yusin" dictatorial rule, putting into the shade traitor Lee Myung Bak's harsh dictatorship veiled with the word of "pragmatism." As already known in history, the Park Chung-Hee military junta seized power at the point of bayonet and enforced an extreme terror-ridden policy, turning the whole of south Korea into a tundra of democracy and human rights and a land of darkness. He punished innocent people at random at the emergency court martial after frequently declaring "emergency martial law", "garrison decree order" and "state of emergency" and taking "emergency measures". As shown by a series of recent disclosures, many people fell victim to confrontation and conspiratorial cases orchestrated by the fascist junta as evidenced by the fact that they were arrested overnight on charges of "espionage" or "involvement in spy case." 700 000 to 800 000 pro-reunification patriots and people of different social standings were put behind bars and killed in every year, a total of at least 14 million, during the 18-year long rule of Park Chung-Hee. The south Korean people are still stricken with horror, recollecting the "yusin" dictatorship as a nightmare. What matters is that the daughter of the military fascist dictator is zealously applying the fascist ruling method dating back to the period of the "yusin" regime after coming to power. Not content with patronizing the "yusin" dictatorship before her seizure of power, she blustered that but for "yusin", the south would have been swallowed up by the north and, with this in view, slight suppression of democracy was by no means worse than that case. These reckless remarks are enough to clearly show her stand and outlook on rule. She is busy making new evil laws at a time when the "emergency measures" taken during her father's dictatorship are declared illegal and truth behind the conspiratorial cases dating back to the period of the "yusin" regime is brought to light in succession. This is a blatant challenge to freedom, human rights and democracy. The people from all walks of life in south Korea should stage a dynamic struggle against the dictatorship and the "government." This is the only way for them to escape the fate of falling victim to the horrifying "yusin" dictatorship. |
