Pyongyang, May 27 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, provided field guidance to the August 25 Fishery Station under KPA Unit 313. He shook hands of commanding officers of the unit and officials of the fishery station present to greet him one by one and got aboard a fishing boat. He said that the fishery station should catch a lot of fishes with good fishing boats and supply the soldiers on the forefront with them all the year round so that the fishing boats provided by the Party may pay off profusely. He went down to an engine room and learned in detail about its arrangement, its consumption of fuel and H.P. Going round the front and middle cabins, he underscored the need to arrange them well so that its crew may not feel any inconvenience in their living. He told the commanding officers and officials an experience gained by a fishery base in effectively using spent fuel, underscoring the need to make sure that fishermen can have rest in a warm place as their hands are wet in cold water of rough sea. He said that each fishing boat should haul 1 000 tons of fishes every year, telling them to write a letter to the Supreme Commander when they honor their plan. A drive for cultivating soybean is now under way in the People's Army, he noted, calling for successfully conducting both soybean growing and fishing operations to provide the soldiers with soybean and fishes all the year round. When he was requested to name the fishing boat by KPA officers and officials of the fishery station, he proposed naming it "maple" symbolic of autumn. He went round the monument to the field guidance provided by leader Kim Jong Il to the fishery station, giving it important instructions on August 25, 1973, and the room dedicated to the history of the fishery station. He made the rounds of the storehouse of fishing tackle and the refrigerating chamber of the station. He called on the fishery station to undertake aquaculture on a large scale while catching a lot of fishes in order to boost aquatic products, adding that it is necessary to cultivate seaweed, tangle, mussel, etc. in a big way. He said he visited the supply base on the east coast under KPA Unit 639 a few days ago where he saw it providing good supply service and catching a lot of fishes by putting fishing operations on a scientific basis, urging them to follow the working style and experience of the officials at that unit. He had a photo session with the officials and employees of the fishery station. He was accompanied by Choe Ryong Hae, Kim Kyok Sik, Jang Jong Nam, Ri Yong Gil, Son Chol Ju, Ryom Chol Song, Jon Chang Bok, Yun Tong Hyon, Jo Kyong Chol, An Ji Yong, Kim Su Gil and Hwang Pyong So. |
