The statement fully supported and warmly hailed the offer of the North Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration on holding the events common to the nation represented by Koreans in the north, south and overseas on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration.

The joint declaration was provided by the top leaders of the north and the south for the first time in the history of division, reflecting the noble desire of all the fellow countrymen for the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea, it said.

But since the conservative regime emerged in south Korea the historic joint declaration has been totally denied, the north-south relations, which had developed on good terms, were totally derailed and the June 15 events common to the nation, which had jointly been conducted by the north, the south and overseas, were not opened, it charged.

The Lee Myung Bak regime ditched the tour of Mt. Kumgang and then the present regime pushed the Kaesong Industrial Zone into a crisis of collapse, it held.

To implement the June 15 joint declaration is the only way of opening a new phase of independent reunification in the spirit of "By our nation itself", it said.

It urged the south Korean authorities to immediately accept the offer of the north side on holding the June 15 events common to the nation.
