Serious Environmental Pollution Caused by GIs in South Korea
Pyongyang, May 28 (KCNA) -- Environmental pollution caused by the U.S. aggressor forces is becoming a serious problem in south Korea.

Areas covering at least 12 200 square meters have been polluted since the oil leakage from the U.S. military base in Ryongsan, Seoul in 2001.

About 7.18 million liters of underground water were polluted and 5.8 billion won was spent for purifying it.

The Seoul City side informed the U.S. Forces Command in south Korea and the U.S. embassy there of this serious situation and urged them to inquire into the pollution at the base but no measure has been taken.
