Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- There are lots of mineral springs in Pyongyang. Typical of them are Okryu and Hadang springs. In May Juche 75 (1986), leader Kim Jong Il named the mineral spring, found near the Okryu Bridge across the Taedong River, Okryu Mineral Spring and saw to it that a spa resort was built between the bridge and Okryu Restaurant. This mineral water contains K, Na, Mg, Fe and Cl and other ingredients, which are efficacious for such diseases as chronic gastritis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, chronic hepatitis, chronic enteritis and colitis, chronic bronchitis and diabetes. When it is applied to bathing, it helps adjust blood pressure. Hadang mineral water, too, is believed to have a great deal of medicinal effect. As a compound of Cl and Na, it is of slight alkalinity with HCO3, K and Mg. Pyongyang also boasts of Samma, Samsin, Kobangsan, Pothonggang, Haksan and Kuso mineral springs. |
