KCNA Commentary Snubs U.S. Talk about "Sincerity"
Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- The U.S. is misleading public opinion by floating misinformation about the DPRK's "sincerity."

The U.S. Department of State is letting loose a spate of absurd assertions falsifying facts, claiming that "north Korea clarified its will to hold dialogue but what is important is for it to be sincere about denuclearization" and "concrete actions are necessary for denuclearization."

Washington's position is sparking off censure of the world community as it is an improper behavior to conceal the root cause of escalating tension on the Korean Peninsula and evade the responsibility for the closed door of dialogue.

To contend that the tension on the Korean Peninsula is attributable to the DPRK's lack of sincerity as claimed by the U.S. is an assertion that stuns the world in the true sense of the word.

Has the U.S. been "sincere" toward the issue of the peninsula?

In recent years alone, the U.S. has threatened the DPRK with nuclear weapons and staged ceaseless joint military drills against it in a bid to swallow it up any moment. Washington has paid lip-service to respect for sovereignty, peaceful co-existence and normal relationship agreed upon between the two countries. There are too many instances to cite for proving the U.S. wanton violation of DPRK's sovereignty, the right to development and dignity, as evidenced by its infringement upon the DPRK's use of space for peaceful purposes though it is a sovereign state.

Even now the U.S. keeps introducing into south Korea nuclear strike means of different types including super-large nuclear-powered aircraft carrier strike groups, strategic nuclear-capable bombers, nuclear-powered submarines, flotillas of guided missile destroyers and even a formation of F-22 Stealth fighters tasked to strike the military bases of the DPRK at the outset of a war.

The DPRK has exerted its efforts to defuse the danger of a nuclear war and made every sincere bid to settle the nuclear issue at dozens of rounds of negotiations with the U.S. However, the U.S. has ignored all these efforts and resorted to a frantic nuclear threat and blackmail against the DPRK in a bid to disarm it and topple its social system at any cost.

Washington's proposal for negotiating with denuclearization as a precondition is little short of a scenario for sitting at a negotiating table after disarming Pyongyang.

The impudent U.S. is so ridiculous as to talk about the DPRK's "sincerity", instead of feeling ashamed of its hypocritical "sincerity" revealed before the world.

It is the U.S. which lacks sincerity.
