Premier League under Way in DPRK
Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- The premier football league is now going on in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea as part of the Sports Contest for Pochonbo Torch Prize.

Taking part in the league, which began on May 20 and will run through mid-June, are more than ten men's and women's teams, including newly emerging teams.

On the first-day match, the Ryongaksan Team beat the Sonbong Team 2:0, going beyond the experts' expectation.

The Hwaebul Team, too, defeated some hopeful teams.

According to an official concerned, the newly emerging teams, composed of young footballers, are almost equal to the hopefuls in techniques and tactics. The experts are of the view that those teams will take top standings in the league.

The league is held in two rounds and the top four teams in the league matches will compete in the semi-finals and finals.
