Joint Friendship Meeting Marks International Children's Day
Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- A joint friendship meeting was held at the Mangyongdae Amusement Park on Saturday to mark the 63rd anniversary of the International Children's Day.

Present there were Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, officials concerned and children and women in Pyongyang.

Present there on invitation were diplomatic envoys and staff members of foreign embassies and missions of international bodies here, their children and women and other foreign guests and overseas Koreans staying in the homeland.

The meeting began with songs and dances of kindergarteners.

Ro Song Sil, chairwoman of the C.C., the Democratic Women's Union of Korea, made a congratulatory speech.

Then followed folk plays of children including wooden horse riding, turning of toy pinwheel, Korean wrestling and jumping over flower-decorated ropes.

An art performance was given by children.

Foreign children sang Korean songs well.

After the performance was over, colorful sports and amusement games took place, divided into "Tank" team and "Plane" team.

After the end of the games, the participants spent a pleasant time, dancing together and using amusement facilities.
