Int'l Children's Day Marked

Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- The children of the DPRK significantly spent the June 1 International Children's Day. Nurseries, kindergartens, parks and recreation grounds in Pyongyang and other parts of the country were crowded with children and their parents on the day. Colorful sports and amusement games and art performances of children took place at nurseries and kindergartens here and Mangyongdae and Taesongsan amusement parks. Children did morning exercise and rhythmic exercise and had folk plays to the tune of songs "Today Is June 1" and "We Are Also Boy General". Joy of their hopes and talents coming true could be read on their faces. Seeing children read and count and play accordions, their parents and other people felt deeply grateful to the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un who regards them as the king of the country and brings their hopes into full bloom. Similar celebrations took place at nurseries and kindergartens at the metallurgical bases including the Kangson Steel Complex and the Songjin Steel Complex, machine-building bases including the Taean Heavy Machine Complex and the Rakwon Machine Complex, Samjigang Co-op Farm in Jaeryong County and Sinam Co-op Farm in Ryongchon County busy with farming and fruit farm in Ryongjon. Sports and amusement games were held by thousands of kindergarteners at the picturesque park in Hungnam District, Hamhung City. Kindergarteners of different units in Chongjin City including the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex put on the stage conspicuous numbers. Their sports and amusement games including roller skate races delighted their fathers and mothers. Sports and amusement games and performances presenting achievements were held by children of nurseries and kindergartens in Nampho, Kanggye, Phyongsong, Wonsan and Sariwon cities with the attendance of officials of local party and power bodies and working people's organizations and other people and children's parents. |
