Present there were the first secretary of the Central Committee and other members of the leadership of the party, party members in Santiago City, members of trade unions and other people, hundreds in all.

The demonstrators disclosed the imperialists' moves of aggression and supported the Korean people's struggle against them, chanting slogans against imperialism and the U.S., with DPRK flags and a placard bearing letters "Let's hold in check the imperialists' aggression" in their hands.

A statement was released there.

It is obligation of all people who are struggling for independence and sovereignty of their countries and socialism to extend firm support to the heroic DPRK, which is defending its dignity and resolutely countering the provocations of the U.S. imperialists, south Korean puppet forces and all other reactionaries, the statement noted.

The situation of the DPRK shows that it is possible to win in the military and all other fields when correct politics is pursued, it added.
