Sports Contest for Pochonbo Torch Prize Opens

| Pyongyang, June 3 (KCNA) -- There opened the Sports Contest for Pochonbo Torch Prize to celebrate the anniversary of the victory in the historic Pochonbo battle commanded by President Kim Il Sung. The sports events will be held in Pyongyang, Chongjin, Wonsan and other places. The participants will compete in at least 30 sports events including football, volleyball, basketball, ping-pong and wrestling. An opening ceremony took place at Hyesan Stadium in Ryanggang Province Monday. Present there were Kim Chol, chairman of the Ryanggang Provincial People's Committee, and officials concerned, sportspersons and Hyesan citizens. Kim Pyong Sik, vice-minister of Physical Culture and Sports, made an opening address. |
