Rodong Sinmun Ridicules S. Korean Authorities' Theory of "Provocation from North"

Pyongyang, June 4 (KCNA) -- The theory of "provocation from the north" floated by the south Korean authorities is no more than sophism to justify their policy of confrontation with fellow countrymen and the moves to ignite a war against the north. Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says this in a bylined article. The present south Korean ruling quarters' "policy toward the north" is a confrontation policy presupposing the non-existent "provocation" from the north, the article notes, and goes on: This was proved by a "plan for jointly countering the provocation of a local war" which the south Korean puppet regime signed with the U.S. right after it took power while calling for "coping with provocation." According to this scenario, the U.S. put in place legal and institutional mechanism for automatically interfering in any military conflict between the north and the south and expanding a local war into an all-out war. The south Korean warmongers staged frantic large-scale joint military exercises together with the U.S. imperialists in March and April, revealing their aggressive and provocative nature at home and abroad. The puppet regime is sadly mistaken if it thinks it can cover up its hideous provocative nature and ambition to invade the north with such theory of "provocation from the north" which can convince no one. The fascist clique is widely spreading the fiction of the "provocation from the north" in a bid to divert elsewhere the attention of the people who turned out in the anti-"government" struggle and tide over the ruling crisis. No matter how loudly the puppet regime talks about "provocation from the north", it can never cover up its criminal nature. |
