Japan Accused of Distorting History, Reviving Militarism
Pyongyang, June 4 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Democracy, People's Life, Peaceful Reunification and Sovereignty of south Korea released a statement on May 30 denouncing Japan for distorting history and reviving militarism.

The statement accused Osaka Mayor Hashimoto, co-head of the Japan Restoration Party, of making reckless remarks embellishing Japan's past crimes.

The Japanese authorities are becoming all the more undisguised in their moves to revive militarism as evidenced by group visit to Yasukuni Shrine by Japanese politicians, retrogressive revision of the Pacifist Constitution and denial of the past history of aggression, it charged.

It condemned Japan for persistently resorting to the moves to tighten the military alliance with the U.S.

Such moves of Japan are a threat to global peace, it held.

It called for holding in check Japan's moves to tamper with history and revive militarism.
