Rodong Sinmun Slams Moves for U.S.-Japan-south Korea Triangular Military Alliance
|

Pyongyang, June 5 (KCNA) -- The recent U.S.-Japan-south Korea joint military exercises staged in waters west of Kyusu, Japan hint at the fact that the triangular military alliance is actually operating as an entity and its military movements have become evermore undisguised. Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says this in a bylined article. It goes on: The U.S., Japan and south Korea asserted that the purpose of the joint military exercises is to search and rescue civilian ships in distress, but this is nothing but sophism to deceive the international community. It is the sinister scenario of the U.S. to let the U.S.-Japan-south Korea triangular military alliance perform the same function as that of NATO and use it as a mechanism for carrying out the strategy to dominate the Asia-Pacific region including Northeast Asia. According to this scenario, the U.S. made sure that its forces present in south Korea were involved in the joint military exercises with Japan and its forces present in Japan took part in the joint military drills with south Korea. The U.S. forces present in Japan and south Korea played a traction role to link Japan and south Korea militarily, while freely traveling the two regions. The joint Korea military exercises serve as a main factor of straining the situation on the Korean Peninsula and the rest of Northeast Asia. The moves to tighten the triangular military alliance through the joint military exercises are a threat and challenge to the peace on the peninsula and in Asia and other parts of the world and acts of aggression. The DPRK will not remain a passive onlooker to the moves of the U.S., Japan and south Korea to increase pressure upon the DPRK, while putting spurs to the formation of the alliance. |
