Going round various places of the farm, he acquainted himself in detail with fungus production, substrate preparation, cultivation process, etc. Fungus production is important for cultivating mushrooms, he said, learning about how mushroom fungi are cultivated at the farm. He went round the substrate production process of preparing and processing raw materials needed for production to suit the characteristic features of species of mushrooms. Seeing equipment crushing trees and corncobs, materials producing substrates, and machine sterilizing various germs contained in raw materials, he said it is of particular importance to sterilize germs for producing substrates. Making the round of the process of cultivating spores and inoculating substrates with fungi, he said it is possible to cultivate mushrooms anywhere if spores and substrates are prepared. He looked round various cultivation grounds to learn about the mushroom cultivation methods. At an air-tight cultivation ground he underlined the need to select a high-yielding mushroom species which meets the climatic and other specific conditions of the country, saying mushrooms differ from each other at temperature and humidity required by their species. He underscored the need to cultivate high-yielding mushrooms including agarics which grow well at temperature below 20 degrees C with the output of more than 100 tons per hectare. Going round the mushroom cultivation ground by use of vinyl sheet, he said it would be good to cultivate vegetables in summer. He underlined the need to contribute to the diet of soldiers and people by building in various places such bases mass-producing mushrooms in an industrial method. He called on the farm to mass-produce fungi to send them to mushroom farms to be built in the future and compile good technical guides for cultivating mushrooms in an industrial method for various units. He expressed expectation and belief that all employees of the Posong Mushroom Farm would discharge their duty in a responsible manner true to the intention of the WPK and thus produce a large quantity of tasty and nutritive mushrooms for soldiers and people.
