They also called for "strengthening combined defense capabilities" enough to overwhelm the DPRK and discussed the issue of establishing the combined field command to replace the south Korea-U.S. Combined Forces Command after the "transfer of wartime operation control".

Rodong Sinmun Thursday says in a bylined commentary in this regard:

This is the provocative remarks that chill the sincere efforts made by the DPRK to defuse the tension on the Korean Peninsula and provide an atmosphere of dialogue.

Matter is that the top military officials of the U.S. and the south Korean puppet regime again took issue with the DPRK and kicked off the action of confrontation at a time when the atmosphere of dialogue regarding the situation on the peninsula is being created with so much effort.

What can never be overlooked is that the U.S. and the south Korean regime disclosed their intention to set up a combined field command equivalent to the present combined forces command while calling for "strengthening combined defense capabilities" under the pretext of the "transfer of wartime operation control".

This is a serious military provocation against the DPRK, a result of the common interests sought by the U.S. which seeks to realize the strategy for invading the DPRK while maintaining the system of military domination over south Korea and by the south Korean warmongers who plan to realize their ambition to invade the north at any cost by tightening the military collusion with their master, the U.S. after the "transfer of wartime operation control".

The talks between warmongers held in Singapore are aimed to persistently strain the situation. They are a vicious challenge to the public opinion for the relaxation of the tension on the peninsula and the improved inter-Korean relations.

Their provocative remarks clearly prove who want dialogue and peace and who want confrontation and war.
