New Dictionary Published in DPRK

Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- The Korea Publications Export and Import Corporation has brought out a Korean language-related dictionary. Arranged in an alphabetical order, the dictionary contains more than 25,000 vocabularies, with their compounds, synonyms, antonyms and contrasts totaling over 1,500,000. It also carries aphorisms of Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and respected Marshal Kim Jong Un as well as idioms and proverbs after related synonyms and antonyms. All the vocabularies are arranged together with English versions. The dictionary serves as a big stride forward in the nation's linguistic development. People's Scientist Min Yong Hwa, a researcher of Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies who authored the dictionary, told KCNA that it would be useful in selecting appropriate vocabularies and expressions. |
