The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of the pro-reunification patriotic martyrs.

Ri Ji Suk, permanent representative of the committee, made an address to be followed by speeches.

The speakers said if all the Koreans make efforts in the June 15 spirit, the crisis on the Korean Peninsula would be removed and the road to the country's reunification paved earlier.

A resolution was read out at the meeting.

It supported a special statement released by the spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea on June 6. It went on:

The south Korean authorities are talking about peace and prosperity while staging war drills for aggression to annihilate the nation in collusion with outside forces, not freed from the daydream of the confrontation between the differing two social systems, a legacy of the Cold War period. This is no more than a burlesque to deceive and mock the nation.

Only the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration guarantees the happiness of the compatriots and peace.

Prior to the meeting, a video was shown dealing with the Korean nation's movement for the country's reunification for the past 13 years since the publication of the June 15 joint declaration.

On the same day, an art performance was given to celebrate the anniversary.
