DPRK Young Wrestlers Prove Successful

| Pyongyang, June 15 (KCNA) -- DPRK young wrestlers Kim Hyon Gyong and Jong Myong Suk bagged gold medals in the 44 kg and 51kg women's freestyle events at the 2013 Asian Young Wrestling Championship held in Phuket, Thailand. The championship which opened on Thursday brought together wrestlers from 18 countries and regions of Asia. Kim Hyon Gyong eliminated her Japanese rival in the quarterfinals, trounced her Indian rival in the semi-finals. She met a Vietnamese wrestler in the finals. Jong Myong Suk beat her Thai rival in the quarterfinals, snubbed her Indian rival in the semi-finals and faced a Japanese wrestler in the finals. Meanwhile, Kwon Un Nam bagged a silver medal at the men's Greco-roman 50kg category event. |
